Wat zeggen films als Her en Ex Machina over onze relatie met computers? Wat is het verschil tussen mens en robot en hoe verhouden we ‘ons’ tot ‘hen’? Jos de Mul bespreekt vragen die de beroemde Turingtest – welke van twee tegenspelers is een computer? – oproept. Hij gebruikt daarbij een aantal opvallende voorbeelden uit hedendaagse films.
Jos de Mul is hoogleraar Wijsgerige Antropologie aan de Erasmus Universiteit. In zijn boek Kunstmatig van nature bespreekt hij de betekenis van recente ontwikkelingen in de robotica, neurowetenschappen en biotechnologie voor ons zelfbegrip en dagelijks leven.
